Starfighter CAS
The F-104 Starfighter is arguably among the most controversial aircraft in the history of aviation. Its low aspect ratio wing limits its capabilities even in air combat, while ground strikes sound like a highly dubious idea. At the same time, some versions of the Starfighter actually have access to an impressive arsenal of suspended armament.
Best WW2 Artillery
Artillery is an essential part of ground battles. Thanks to their high firepower, self-propelled guns (or SPGs) are popular in matches across almost all ranks. Today, we want to take a look back at some of the best self-propelled artillery from World War 2, as featured in War Thunder.
Thunder Show: SPICY DORITO
This episode features firing in all dimensions, at all speeds, and in almost all possible circumstances.
Farewell to R2Y2 Keiun-Kai
War Thunder offers players almost 3000 combat vehicles from all kinds of nations and eras. Many of them were built in huge numbers, while others remained singular experiments or prototypes. Still, some of the machines in our game had never actually been built. We added them because we needed to fill some gaps in the tech trees of certain nations. The R2Y2 Keiun-Kai planes were added all the way back in 2014 when they became vital parts of Japanese top ranks, being able to both fight in air combat and perform ground strikes. Now, though, our game has a line of Thai aircraft that existed in reality, and the F-84 is ready to fill that gap on Rank V.
Rogue SPAAG
Sometimes, production hell leads to the most unexpected consequences. In the late stages of the Cold War, the US Army spent more than a decade trying to settle the requirements for the new generation of main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. The anti-aircraft vehicles fared a little better... At least, at first glance.
